(ok so Tate is really the farthest thing from a little devil but we are hoping... just so he makes my kids look a little better behaved! HAH!)

Is a super awesome event planner for a little company that sells a certain kind of weird tasting miracle fruit juice that makes you be able to leap over tall buildings, overcome male pattern baldness, defeat cancer and become generally better looking. It is well known in Utah and rhymes with "phony" (I am avoiding any google searches here). Anyway, this company throws awesome events that take our lovely Jenny all over the world and to some pretty snazzy hotels. This girl has been spoiled. I mean it. Unless there is a chocolate piano that plays a different selection from Chopin every night left on her pillow, or a soft fuzzy robe that magically blow dries and styles her hair, it only gets four stars in her book. Ok, so I am exaggerating just a tad.
But really, it has been a dream job for her with some fun perks for us. Like when she called us on Friday night and wanted to know if we wanted her room up at the Grand America hotel on Saturday night. Ummm, all marble bathrooms (no really, even the BASEBOARDS are marble!) and a view to DIE for from the 16th floor? YES PLEASE!
She had a big event going on and had the room for three nights but was all five star-hotel-ed out. Yey for us!
We were planning on taking the kids to Lagoon on Saturday so we thought we would give them the option. Of course our children think hotels are better than Disneyland (only because they don't know better Holly). So hotel it was. We headed up there in the early evening on Saturday and it was an awesome suite.
Eastern facing views of S.L.C.
The amazing inner garden court.
Grant checking out our "suite" view.
Of course the kids wanted to be in the pool 24/7. I didn't mind except for the fact that there were a couple lounging women who would have looked more comfortable amid the pages of a naughty magazine in those swimsuits (I even gave Dave that sign where you point your first two fingers to your eyes and then in his direction that means - EYES ON ME!) J/K... sort of.
We ordered two big greasy pizzas from THE PIE, a Salt Lake City favorite. The kids got to warm their freezing bodies (from the not so warm pool) in the deep deep tub with a bubble bath, indulge in two pounds of Salt Lake City Saltwater Taffy and sleep in front of the floor to ceiling windows with this as their view once the sun went down.
Then there was a bad attempt at sleep, on my part. Dave seemed to do a good job snoring away. It was partly due to a lack of white noise; there was an alarm clock that had nature sounds but really, garden chimes and chirping birds are NOT the easiest thing to sleep to. The waves sounds were great but who was the brainiac that thought to put the FOG HORN in there? Since when are FOG HORNS going to lull anyone into deep relaxation??? Partly due to: my still waking to nurse every three hours baby, the aforementioned snoring, to Grant waking up and crying which ended with him sandwiched between Dave and I in the King sized bed which doesn't feel very king sized with a two year old glued to your side (and Dave thinks he is a Daddy's boy!).
At one point after several trips to and from the living room couch, I called down to the front desk from the toilet room (yes there was a room for the toilet and a PHONE IN THE ROOM FOR THE TOILET), to ask if they had a fan, but alas, the housekeeping staff was unable to track one down for me. I thought at a five star hotel they had to like, run out and buy one if a guest needed one and they didn't have it. Who cares that it was 2 a.m.? That must only be in the 6 star hotels. Or for the president (who did stay in the Grand America I might add). Finally I fell asleep around 4:30 or so. Of course the baby woke up to eat at 5:30 so it was a short lived slumber.
But it was worth my night of no sleep.
Especially so Gray could play like this:
I think he liked it.
ALOT.
(k, Dave thinks this is a homely picture of Gray but I love it. The look on his face just makes me LAUGH OUT LOUD!!!) And who doesn't love brand new bibi chicklet teeth.
And two more of "the babies". Because they are funny. And always make me laugh.
I have no idea why they made these faces. But they did it at the same time and it makes me laugh even more.
I love this little family of mine. Thanks for the memories Jen!
