Sydney admiring the "magic crystal". I picked up some glass sea shells for a couple bucks at Wal-Mart so that I can have my egg timer back.

Not too much new stuff to report... Dave and I went to McGraths Fishhouse for dinner last night with our best buddies Rod and Staci. Company was good but I practically had to use a steak knife to cut my overpriced halibut.

Dave got back from Kansas and did pretty well. And can you believe he got pulled over by the only Mormon policeman in all of Kansas for speeding? And the only thing he got was a $10.00 seatbelt ticket. I know, I know... I argue with him about this all the time.

Magic...egg timer?

For the past two days my kids have been carrying around my clear acrylic egg timer... and fighting over it. Only to them, it isn't just an egg timer... it is the "magic crystal!". Could this be a sign that they watch too much t.v. (thank you Barbie in Swan Lake for turning an egg timer into a huge source of contention), or just that they have brilliant imaginations?

Whatever the reason, it sure is funny to see Blake asleep in bed with the "magic" egg timer placed in a most precious place next to his pillow.

SNOW DAY!

It snowed a LOT last night and has been all morning. That is Utah for you... a 50 degree Sunday and then it snows a couple feet. It is too cold and the snow is too deep to take the kids out to play but they were begging me... so I came up with this alternative...

And they are having the best time!!!

Valentines Day and More...

I am long overdue for a new post here. Work has been sucking up most of my online time making it hard for me to find time to update. The job is going pretty well... monday's are a little much since I have to find 5 hours to devote to it instead of the usual three (since we don't work on Sundays'). But I did get my first paycheck and to see it in my name was pretty exciting! It has been awhile... I don't get paid for doing the HARDEST job of my life which would be MOM of course.

We had a happy valentines day. The kids helped me make cupcakes and valentines for daddy. Of course Blakes was covered with Thomas the Train stickers and Sydney tired of the whole thing rather quickly.
Aunt Katie and Uncle Mike sent a valentines day package for the kids. They were ecstatic about it and tried to eat all of the candy up in one day (which I, being a good mother would not allow!). We had fun with these as well...

I decorated the table that night for the kids while they were upstairs having dinner. It was a little sad since all of the valentines candy was gone because I got to the store too late... but they thought it was the greatest thing ever!

The kids newest love is "hide and go seek". It took me awhile to explain to them that they have to hide in a different spot the next time (five times under the table and it was getting a little hard to pretend that I couldn't find them!). Here is a couple pics I snapped when I found them:

Dave leaves on business for Kansas this wednesday. Not looking forward to him being gone but I won't miss the fidgeting and hogging of the bed! I predict a king size bed is not too far into our future!

And finally, a couple last pics of the little stinkers. I just can't get enough.

Gross

How many kids do you know who will lick the bottom of their shoe to get their parents attention during Sunday School? I know one...

Sydney Last Night

Last night I went in to check on Sydney and discovered that she had fallen asleep with the light on. I turned it off which promptly woke her and she cried to have it back on. I turned it on with the idea that I would turn it off as soon as she fell asleep again. I had to grab a camera... the way she helps herself to fall asleep is so adorable, she strokes her cheek with her pointer finger - here is what I caught on camera...

Time off - phew!

Today will be a good day. Dave has agreed that I need some "lizzy time" (albeit a bit reluctantly since he will be stuck with the kids for part of the evening), so Staci and I are hitting the town. Okay, more like a movie and dinner but that is about as exciting as it gets these days! From 4pm - 8-30ish, I will be in near heaven. Some conversation that doesn't revolve around Thomas the Tank Engine or Twelve Dancing Princesses is much needed.

I finally started my 'real' job yesterday with a training meeting online and via conference call that really cleared up any questions that had been swirling around in my head. Before then I was doing what seemed to be a never ending pile of filler work. Even though this job doesn't leave me much free time (I had to clean my bathroom at 9:30 pm the other night because it was the ONLY time I had left in the day), I must say I am enjoying the sense that I am back in the work world to some degree. That will be even better when I get my first paycheck!

Dave will graduate on April 27th - I need some great gift ideas. You will have to email them to me though because he reads this every once in a blue moon - and no, I can't afford to get him golf clubs. That will just have to wait.

Final note* You know you are a stay at home mom when: Cleaning out the oven becomes a great feat of achievement, and you can't stop opening it to admire all of your effort and the crowning glory of all that black crusty stuff being replaced with something you can see your refection in. Ahhhhh....

Well, work has been keeping me busy and seems to suck all of my free time, and there is absolutely nothing new to report - except for the fact that if I have to watch Barbies 12 Dancing Princesses one more time I think I will run off to Mexico.
